Answer the questions and then include both questions and answers in your text.
1. Read the wiki on how to write Fanfiction

Finishing the word clouds and writing fanfiction
Today are you first of all going to finish the word clouds you started working with last time.
You collected words from the movie Precious. Save the word clouds and publish them on The colour of the human heart blog.
For Friday I want you to read about how you write Fanfiction. Shortly, you can describe it as:
You pretend to be someone in a famous book or movie and you re-write parts of the story.
You may as well take your favourite character and put in a completely different movie or book. Let's say you put Frodo into Fifty Shades of Grey. What do you think would have happened?
Fanfiction is the last thing you are going to write together with me!
For Friday:
1. Read about Fanfiction
2. Decide what film or book you would like to write about (Pick a famous one!)
3. Decide which character you would like to be
4. Choose your favourite scene in the movie that you would like to re-write
5. Give your character other characteristics - you have examples in the Fanfiction explanation above
6. Re-write the new scene or chapter together - 1-2 A4 pages, size 12. Write in Google Document - share the document with me: sarasv74@gmail.com
1. Linus, William, Philip N
2 . Filip E, Emil
3. Rasmus, Victor C
4. Filip P, Victor SB
5. Naomi, Julia, Filippa
6. Tilda, Johanna J and Saga
7. Victoria, Mira
8. Sarah and Johanna C

Precious - study questions
Last time you watched the movie Precious.
You are going to discuss the questions below in pairs.
1. Use the Ipad and record your discussions.
2. Write down words that describe Prescious. What is she like? What kind of person is she?
- What words can you use to describe the whole movie? Use adjectives.
I will show you how to do it during the lesson.
1. Precious is a very powerful film so...
a.What feelings and/or reactions did you have while viewing it?
b.What scenes and images in the film stand out for you?
c.For the images that stand out the most, why do they stand out? How do
they relate to your life?
d.How did the film affect you?
e. What type of person do you believe Precious is?
f.What does Precious mean when she says that she’s “invisible”?
2. Hope
Precious is ultimately a story of hope. Precious has a core of hope, though
she does feel hopeless at times. She goes to the GED program as an
“alternative” to her current situation and puts her faith in her teacher, etc. even
in the face of difficult circumstances.
a.What other elements of hope are found throughout the film?
b.What does Precious still have hope for?
c.How does her optimism change her daily life?
d.How did writing help her to heal?
e.Precious will carry the scars of her parents’abuse for the rest of her life.
Will she be able to find the trust to break this cycle and create a loving and safe
environment for her own family? What do you think?
4. The teacher
Precious’ reading teacher, Blue Rain, takes a serious and consistent interest in
her well-being and success.
a. What role does Ms Rain play in Precious' development? Motivate your opinion.
Think of a teacher who made a difference in your life.
a.What is it that make that teacher so special to you?
b.What key characteristics made this teacher so special to you?
The questions are inspired from the websites in this Pearltrees.com

Writing
I hope you enjoyed the Skype lesson we had! I did! We have read and discussed the book. We have listened to Virgina Historical Society so of course we, now, need to write about the book!
You can choose between:
1. Mr P advises Junior to leave the reservation to pursue hope for his future. Write a letter to Mr P from Junior at the end of the novel where he tells him whether or not his search for hope has been successful.
2. Towards the end of the novel Junior tries to convince Rowdy to come to Reardan High with him. What would happen if Rowdy agreed? Write an additional chapter for the novel that includes Rowdy's first day at Reardan.
Write in Google Document, maximum two (minimum one) A4 pages size 12, and share it with me: sarasv74@gmail.com
You don't have to write at home. You may bring a mind-map with your ideas if you want to.

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian
On Friday week 5 and on Monday week 6 you will be on your wedding trip.
On Friday, the 6th of February, we are going to discuss the book again. Please remember to bring it!
I want you to read, at least, until page 178 for Friday the 6th of February and finish the book for Friday the 13th of February.
Friday the 6th of February
Here are some questions for you to find out in advance. You are going to talk to friend about your answers when we see each other in class.
1. What is a reservation?
2. Why where the reservations created?
3. Who are the Spokanes?
4. Where do they live?
On page 12 there is a picture of Junior's parents and what they might have become if anyone had listened to their dreams. Take another look at the picture and discuss:
1. What do you think happened to Junior's parents in real life?
2. Who or what decides the future of a person?
3. What might stop a person from becoming who he/she wants to be?
3. Do you have dreams about your own future?
The following questions are we going to work with together and you don't have to prepare the questions in advance:
1. Junior seems to be a very special person. How would you describe him?
2. Mr P wants Junior to say out loud that he deserves better. This makes Junior cry. Why?
3. Mr P tells Junior he must leave the reservation. Rowdy on the other hand thinks Junior is a traitor
when Junior tells him about his plans. What advice would you give Junior? Is he right to transfer to a school outside Wellpinnit or should he stay on the rez with his people?
4. Junior finds a new friend in Gordy. What do they have in common? Do you think Gordy can replace Rowdy?
5. Gordy claims "life is a constant struggle between being an individual and a member of the community". What does he mean by that? Is this true for Junior? For Gordy? For you?
6. Describe the basketball game between Reardan and Wellpinit. What makes Junior want to play the game?
Remember to finish the book for Friday 13th of February.

The Wedding Trip - a project with 9A, 9B, 9C
The Wedding Trip - a project with 9A, 9B and 9C.
You have now found a partner that you love and the wedding was yesterday!
Today you are going on your honeymoon, but first you need to plan where you are going. You need to document your trip. Use pictures and film! You can use the computer, iPad and/or your phone.
Dead- line: 9th of March
What to do!
1. You have to visit an English speaking country.
- Shortly describe the country you have chosen.
2. You have to visit three famous places in that country.
- Describe the places. Why is it a famous place? What will you and your partner do when you visit it?
3. You have to participate in three activities that are typical of your country. For example: If you go to England you have an afternoon tea, if you go to the USA you watch baseball…
4. If you want to you can choose “your song”! Do you have a love song that means something special to you? Motivate why!
How you do it!
You can choose between making a film or a photo album. You present your film/photo album for Sara, Maria and Marie. You don't have to show everyone. You need to write a manuscript and also be able to present your film/photo album orally. (If you choose film you speak in the film and only need to introduce what you have done.)
Focus on your language - pronunciation and writing- and not on which app you would like to use. (Check out Schoolsoft for the knowledge requirements linked to this project.)
Choose one of the tasks:
Make a film – write a manuscript.
Remember it is a film from your wedding trip! Make sure we understand where you are, what you are doing and what you think about it! (You don’t have to document your wedding night!)
Make your own photo album.
Include pictures and text. Make sure we understand where you are, what you are doing and what you think about it.
Programs and apps that you can use:
Use Google Document when you write your manuscript. You need your Google account. Remember to share your document with your partner.
www.storyjumper.com - to create photo albums
www.animoto.com or the app - to create photo albums
www.magisto.com or the app - to create photo albums
Google Presentations - you can share your presentations with your partner which means that you can continue working if your partner is ill.
PowerPoint - you can share your presentations
www.screencastomatic.com - use this to add sound to your pictures
Book Creator - an app where you can create your own book: add film, pictures and text.
iMovie
Youtube Capture
Dead-line: Your presentations will start on the 9th of March.
Good Luck!
